Description

Kos is called the island of cycling. Kos's bike path starts from the beach of Faros and extends to the end of Psalidi beach, a distance of about 13 kilometers that is used by many people for traveling or walking. From 2016 onwards, the first mountain bike trails on the island began to be created by a group of friends for entertainment and fun. In March 2017, a weekly European Aegean Trails project was launched in the Dodecanese that also passed through Kos and was repeated in 2018 with great success. This was also the official beginning in the field of mountain biking and trailblazers.

The area where the trails are located is Mount Symbeto, at an altitude of 470 meters above the town of Kos. Part of the Dikai Mountains that literally cuts the island in the middle, separating the volcanic south side from the populated north side which has been pine and eucalyptus since 1960.
