Hiking Vouraikos Gorge

One of the most beautiful places in Achaea is Vouraikos Gorge. An amazing well-marked hiking route E4 20 km long, in the National Park of Helmos-Vouraikos, awaits the lovers of mountain routes. Highlight of the hike is the unique experience of the famous Odontotos Rack Railway that connects Diakofto with Kalavrita. A route in the beautiful nature of Vouraikos, so impressive that it has not been unjustly described as the "most spectacular railway route in the Balkans". Vouraikos river originates between the eastern part of Mt. Erymanthos and the western ones of Mt. Helmos and flows in a northerly direction to the west of Achaea.
It has a total length of 15 km and occupies parts of the provinces of Egialia and Kalavrita.

It requires elementary physical condition and love for nature.
