An area of significant historical and ecological value, rich in geographical relief, amid a unique landscape surrounded by 13 summits and vast meadows rich in fauna and flora. Aliakmonas river's sources are in these summits.
The geographical relief allows everyone to visit the highest and biggest alpine lake of Greece, the dragon lake Gistova at an altitude of 2350 m, as well as the fourth highest Greek summit, Tsouka Petsik at 2520 m. One more known summit is Perifano, at 2444 m. 

However, besides hiking visitors have the potential to live a unique experience, a safari through the forest heading for the area of Arrenes. The Arrenes comprise an area of physical beauty, a cluster of two alpine lakes (Moutsalia) at an altitude of 1729 m. The wider area offers a variety of others sightseeings, the guerrilla’s hospital, the monastery of Saint Zacharias, the National Reconciliation’s Park, etc.
